Lifetime Certification

Candidates are eligible for lifetime certification if they:

  • Hold a CPP, PCI, or PSP in good standing.

  • Maintained a single certification for twelve consecutive years preceding the date of application.

  • Retired (defined as complete cessation from any security related employment or practice or representation of any such employment or practice) and have no legal, financial or business interest with any form of security related employment or practice, as defined by the applicable certification exam domain (CPP, PCI, PSP).

  • Paid the recertification fee for the current term.

 Lifetime Certification Application

The ASIS International program director may confer the lifetime designation, on behalf of the PCB, to those who meet the above requirements. Approved lifetime certificants in good standing will receive a new certificate that states "Lifetime - type of designation - (Retired)."

‚ÄčImportant! A retired lifetime certificant who returns to work must notify the ASIS Certification Department and relinquish their lifetime retired status. You will be reinstated as a CPP, PCI, or PSP and assigned a new three-year term. This is to protect the integrity of the certification program, ensuring it adheres to the ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation guidelines, and encourages continued professional development of security professionals practicing within their field. Violators of the Lifetime Certification policies and procedures are subject to review and possible loss of their certification status.
